My Casio Baby-G Collection

Honestly speaking, Casio would not even to the mind of most fashion watch lovers when they are asked about their favorite brands. Watch fashionista are well, fashion sensitive breed of people who usually have their own affinity to the designer labels. Designer label watches from the likes of Emporio Armani, Guess , Armani Exchange and Michael Kors would be the names most familiar to typical fashion watch lovers. This is understandable since their wardrobes are likely to be made up of apparels and accessories from such brands.
I am a self-confessed watch fashionista. I am more inclined to prefer watches that look stylish and beautiful rather watches that look sluggish but great in functionalities. But I do not consider myself a typical fashion watch lover. If you go by the bell curve, I probably belong to either of the tail when it comes to most common preference. While I am fully aware of the exclusive and expensive image that Michael Kors watches carry, I don't think their watch qualities are good. They may be sexy, glitzy and glamorous. But they are not long lasting.
If some girls like to shop for new pair of shoes every other week, I like to shop for new watches every now and then. Not every month, but close to biannually or sometimes more. I have a number of watches bearing designer labels. I have one boyfriend watch from GUESS. I have few Armani watches. But my love affair with fashion watches are not all good. That's why when I buy those watches these days, I only consider paying for their brand and design and nothing else.
I was introduced to Casio Baby-G watches few years back. In fact, it was my boyfriend who bought me a Baby-G watch. To be exact, it was meant as a Valentine gift and he got a pair of the Casio couple watches. He ended up with a G-Shock watch that he absolutely loved and I ended up with a Baby-G watch that, hmm, I initially hated but developed affection as I get to know more of it.

One of the thing that my baby-g watch has and not all my other fashion watches is the Casio illuminator function. I think the Casio illuminator is brilliant. My baby-g watch comes in white. I absolutely love to see how the LED backlight of illuminator light up and blends so well with the overall color of the watch. When I first received it as a Valentine gift, I hated it so much. The main reason is that it looks so bulky and unlike any of the watches that I have previously owned. But my boyfriend adores his G-shock so much that he wanted me to put it on occasionaly when we went on a date.
After some time, I started to realize that they are not that bad after all. I started to develop affection for it and every time I look at it now, it just looks so cute.
